Established in 2020, the Automotive and Agricultural Mechanization Engineering Department (AAMED) of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology was carved out of the existing Mechanical Engineering Department.
The Electrical/Electronic Engineering Department is one of the oldest Departments in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The Department gained accreditation to run HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 1992 and subsequently gained accreditation to run BTech Top-Up Programme in Electrical/Electronic Engineering in 2015.

The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the well-endowed seven Departments under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) with excellent human resources and the fastest growing in the running of tertiary programmes at Kumasi Technical University. It is located at the Amakom Campus of Kumasi Technical University.
The Department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1996 to primarily provide training in Chemical Engineering at the Higher National Diploma (HND) level.
