ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum qualifications for admission into the programme are:
Candidates who possess MEng/MTech/MPhil/MSc/ degrees in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related programmes from a recognised university may gain admission into the Doctor of Technology programme.
All applicants must have a minimum of one-year post-graduation or equivalent industrial or field experience.
Applicants with other engineering and chemistry backgrounds would be required to take relevant chemical engineering courses at the Master’s and/or Bachelor’s level as prerequisites.
Candidates may be required to attend and pass an interview.
Applicants whose working language is not English must show that they have good command of both spoken and written English. Candidates who do not meet the basic standards on English will be required to take special English courses before they are admitted.
Candidates enrolled in MTech or MEng Chemical programme
A student enrolled in the MEng or MTech Chemical Engineering Programme in the Department is eligible to progress to the Doctor of Technology programme subject to the following. They must:
be in the second semester of the second year with at least one published article in a peer-reviewed journal or two conference papers to their credit.
have passed all mandatory courses and obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 4.00.
not have submitted the MTech or MEng thesis for examination.
attend and pass an interview at the Department with the endorsement of the supervisor LIST OF COURSES
