Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering

Introduction

The Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering programme aims at training students to acquire knowledge, skills and attitude required for immediate employment and successful career in the chemical and allied industries.

The programme has been carefully developed to enhance students’ ability to perform engineering design through creative thinking, synthesis and integration of inter-disciplinary knowledge to enable them to apply engineering solutions to national and global challenges.

Objectives

The specific objectives are to:

Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering

Entry Requirements

BTech or BSc Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognised Institution. Applicants must have a minimum of one (1) year post-graduation or equivalent industrial experience. Preference will be given to applicants with first class and second class upper honours and may be admitted without the post-graduation industrial experience. Applicants with a second class (lower division) or lower qualifications must pass a selection interview before admission into the programme.

Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Introduction

Electrical and electronic engineering forms the basis of very important sectors of the economy. Electrical engineers provide skilled labour in telecommunications, power generation and distribution, computing systems, instrumentation, and control systems. The knowledge imparted to the students during the four years of training is expected to prepare them to work in the industry or venture into self-employment.

Objectives

The objectives of the programme are to:

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemical Engineering

Programme Description
The HND Chemical Engineering has been designed to equip students with the necessary technical skills and knowledge to enable them:
•    develop the ability to apply mathematics, physical and chemical sciences, and information sciences to the Chemical Engineering discipline;
•    develop basic competence in a range of technical areas relevant to Chemical Engineering and to further enhance students’ knowledge to good engineering practices.
