I am honored to welcome you to one of the best departments of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Kumasi Technical University. The Electrical Engineering Department has maintained a reputation of quality training and has been at the forefront of preparing manpower to support the technological and engineering advancement of KsTU, Ghana and beyond. In this wise, the Department has produced some of the finest Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineers for Industry as well as academia.

Programs offered at the Department comprise taught courses, seminars, field trips, report writing and laboratory work. The following programmes are currently run at the Department:

• Diploma Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Higher National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• BTech Top-Up in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (1^1/2 years).

Tuition is also provided for students of EET Parts I, II & III.

Currently, the Department is awaiting accreditation to run a four-year curriculum-based training (CBT) in BTech Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

The Department prizes development of enterprising professionals who are innovative, confident and competent to excel amidst new trends in technology and entrepreneurship in the Electrical/Electronic Engineering fields, as well as assume leadership roles in  the community. Therefore all extra-curricula programmes  and activities organized at the Department encourage full student participation. Such programmes which include field trips, socializing, sporting activities, leadership engagements among others, are geared towards achieving an all-round technically astute graduate with essential skills and qualities to become significantly useful to the community as a whole.

The Department can boast of intelligent, approachable and committed academic and supporting staff who have interest in the student’s academic and social progress.
